Welcome to IKEAMANIA.com.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the IKEAMANIA website, marketplace, buyer accounts, seller accounts, product listings, checkout services, communications, and related services.
By accessing IKEAMANIA.com, creating an account, listing an item, purchasing an item, or otherwise using the marketplace, you agree to these Terms.
1. About IKEAMANIA
IKEAMANIA is an independent marketplace dedicated to authentic secondhand, vintage, discontinued, rare, collectible, restored, and hard-to-find IKEA furniture, lighting, accessories, textiles, decorative objects, replacement items, and related products.
Items available through the marketplace may be:
- Owned and sold directly by IKEAMANIA
- Sold by independent third-party vendors
- Vintage
- Discontinued
- Pre-owned
- Restored
- New old stock
- Unopened or factory sealed
- Missing original packaging
- Missing original instructions or hardware when clearly disclosed
Because many marketplace products are discontinued or secondhand, individual items may be unique and may not be replaceable.
2. Independent Marketplace — No IKEA Affiliation
IKEAMANIA is an independent secondhand marketplace and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with IKEA or any IKEA-related company.
References to IKEA, IKEA product names, series names, designer names, catalog information, article numbers, photographs of authentic products, and other descriptive information are used for identification, historical reference, compatibility, resale, and informational purposes.
All trademarks, logos, product names, and other intellectual-property rights belonging to IKEA or third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
3. Marketplace Role
IKEAMANIA operates a marketplace that may include both IKEAMANIA-owned inventory and merchandise offered by independent sellers.
When an item is identified as being sold by an independent vendor, the purchase contract for that product is generally between the buyer and the identified seller, subject to these Terms, the listing, applicable marketplace policies, and applicable law.
IKEAMANIA provides marketplace technology and may facilitate:
- Product listings
- Checkout
- Payments
- Vendor commissions
- Seller payouts
- Shipping information
- Buyer/seller communications
- Returns
- Refunds
- Dispute resolution
IKEAMANIA does not manufacture IKEA products and does not represent itself as IKEA.
4. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to make purchases or operate a seller account.
Seller accounts may not be operated by minors or by persons prohibited from conducting the proposed transactions under applicable law.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating or maintaining an account.
5. Buyer Accounts
Buyers are responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate account information
- Providing a valid shipping address
- Maintaining the confidentiality of passwords
- Reviewing product descriptions before purchase
- Reviewing photographs and disclosed condition
- Confirming measurements when dimensions are important
- Paying applicable purchase prices, taxes, and shipping charges
- Inspecting purchases promptly after delivery
You must notify IKEAMANIA promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
6. Seller Accounts
Independent vendors are responsible for all merchandise they list.
By offering a product through IKEAMANIA, a seller represents and warrants that:
- The seller owns the item or has lawful authority to sell it.
- The item is authentic to the best of the seller’s knowledge.
- The listing does not intentionally misrepresent the item’s identity, age, condition, origin, designer, collection, dimensions, or completeness.
- Photographs accurately represent the item being offered whenever actual-item photographs are required.
- Known material defects are disclosed.
- The item can legally be sold.
- The listing does not infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights.
- The seller will fulfill valid orders in accordance with the listing and marketplace policies.
IKEAMANIA may request additional documentation or information concerning authenticity, identity, ownership, seller identity, or legal compliance.
7. Authenticity and Counterfeit Products
IKEAMANIA is intended as a marketplace for authentic IKEA products.
Counterfeit, replica, imitation, falsely branded, or deliberately misrepresented merchandise is prohibited.
IKEAMANIA may:
- Remove a listing
- Suspend a seller
- Cancel a transaction
- Request evidence of authenticity
- Withhold a payout while a legitimate dispute is investigated
- Permanently close an account for repeated or intentional violations
Reasonable mistakes concerning the exact production year, catalog year, designer attribution, variation, color name, or discontinued status of vintage merchandise will be evaluated based on available evidence and whether the listing materially misrepresented the item.
8. Product Condition
Most merchandise sold on IKEAMANIA is secondhand.
Normal signs of age or prior ownership may include:
- Light scratches
- Small marks
- Patina
- Minor discoloration
- Wear to finishes
- Small variations in color
- Aging of plastic, wood, metal, textiles, or other materials
- Evidence of previous assembly
- Minor imperfections consistent with age
These characteristics are not considered defects when they were disclosed, clearly visible in photographs, or reasonably consistent with the item’s stated condition and age.
Material damage not disclosed in the listing may qualify for protection under the Refund and Returns Policy.
9. Vintage, Discontinued, and Historical Information
IKEAMANIA researches discontinued and vintage products whenever practical.
Historical information may include:
- Designer
- Collection
- Approximate year of introduction
- Approximate year of discontinuation
- Original catalog information
- Materials
- Dimensions
- Historical retail price
- Design background
Because historical IKEA records vary by country, catalog, product revision, and production year, some historical information may be approximate.
Such information is provided in good faith for identification and informational purposes and does not constitute a guarantee unless expressly stated in the listing.
10. Dimensions
Official IKEA measurements will be used whenever reasonably available.
For discontinued products, dimensions may come from archived catalogs, instructions, labels, prior product information, or direct measurement.
Minor measurement differences are not considered a material misdescription.
Buyers should request clarification before purchasing when exact dimensions are essential.
11. Restoration and Cleaning
Some items may be cleaned, repaired, restored, refinished, or otherwise prepared before sale.
Restoration is intended to preserve the function, appearance, and character of the original object.
Material restoration or replacement parts will be disclosed when known and reasonably significant to the item’s value or originality.
Original hardware and assembly instructions are included when available but are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in the listing.
12. Pricing
Prices are determined by IKEAMANIA or the independent seller offering the item.
Prices may reflect factors including:
- Condition
- Rarity
- Discontinued status
- Designer
- Collection
- Color
- Completeness
- Restoration
- Historical significance
- Current secondary-market demand
IKEAMANIA does not guarantee that a listed price represents an item’s original retail price, appraisal value, investment value, or future resale value.
13. Seller Commission
Independent sellers may list eligible merchandise through IKEAMANIA subject to marketplace approval.
IKEAMANIA retains a 10% marketplace commission on completed sales.
IKEAMANIA does not charge a separate IKEAMANIA transaction fee in addition to the stated marketplace commission.
Banks, payment processors, currency-conversion providers, tax authorities, shipping providers, or other third parties may impose their own charges when applicable. Those third-party charges are not IKEAMANIA transaction fees.
The seller dashboard or seller agreement may provide additional operational information concerning payouts, refunds, taxes, shipping, and commission calculations.
If an order is fully refunded, the corresponding IKEAMANIA commission will ordinarily be reversed or adjusted, subject to any non-refundable third-party charges and applicable seller rules.
14. Payments
Payments must be completed through payment methods authorized by IKEAMANIA.
Buyers and sellers must not use IKEAMANIA to initiate a marketplace transaction and then intentionally move the transaction outside the marketplace in order to avoid commission, payment controls, or marketplace protections.
Payment information may be processed by independent payment processors subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Taxes
Applicable sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar taxes may be collected where required.
Independent sellers remain responsible for tax obligations imposed directly on them except where applicable law requires the marketplace or payment provider to collect, report, or remit amounts.
16. Shipping
Shipping availability and cost depend on the item, seller, destination, dimensions, weight, and carrier.
Sellers must ship within the time represented in the listing or order information.
Where no shipping period is specified, applicable law may impose additional requirements concerning timely shipment, notice of delays, cancellation, and refunds.
Tracking should be provided when reasonably available.
17. Local Pickup
Certain products may be eligible for local pickup.
Buyers are responsible for:
- Arriving at the agreed location and time
- Inspecting the item before taking possession
- Providing appropriate transportation
- Bringing sufficient help for large or heavy items
Unless otherwise agreed, IKEAMANIA and independent sellers are not responsible for damage occurring after a local-pickup item has been accepted and removed by the buyer.
18. Returns and Refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by the IKEAMANIA Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Because products are often used, vintage, discontinued, or one-of-a-kind, buyers should carefully review photographs, measurements, condition descriptions, and seller information before purchasing.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates non-waivable consumer rights provided by applicable law.
19. International Buyers
International buyers are responsible for reviewing whether a product may legally be imported into their destination country.
Unless collected at checkout, buyers may be responsible for:
- Customs duties
- Import taxes
- VAT
- Brokerage charges
- Local handling fees
Customs delays are outside the reasonable control of IKEAMANIA and marketplace sellers.
Mandatory consumer rights available in a buyer’s jurisdiction remain unaffected where they legally apply.
20. Professional and Private Sellers
Some marketplace sellers may sell in a professional or commercial capacity, while others may occasionally sell personal secondhand property.
Applicable consumer rights may differ depending on:
- Seller status
- Buyer location
- Seller location
- Nature of the transaction
Where required, IKEAMANIA may request seller information and display information necessary for buyers to identify the seller or determine the seller’s marketplace status. EU marketplace rules, for example, impose trader-traceability obligations on covered marketplaces.
21. Prohibited Activities
Users may not:
- List counterfeit merchandise
- Misrepresent product authenticity
- List stolen goods
- Fraudulently reverse payments
- Manipulate reviews
- Harass other users
- Collect user information for unauthorized purposes
- Interfere with website security
- Introduce malicious software
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Scrape the marketplace in violation of applicable law or technical restrictions
- Create false identities
- Manipulate orders or seller metrics
- Use IKEAMANIA to conduct illegal transactions
- Circumvent marketplace commissions or protections
22. User Content and Product Photographs
Sellers retain ownership of photographs, descriptions, and other original content they create, subject to third-party rights.
By submitting content to IKEAMANIA, the seller grants IKEAMANIA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, resize, display, format, distribute, and use that content as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate the marketplace
- Display listings
- Advertise the listed product
- Promote IKEAMANIA
- Maintain transaction records
The license concerning public promotion ends within a reasonable period after the content is removed, except for archival, legal, transaction, backup, or historical marketplace records.
23. Intellectual Property Complaints
A rights holder who believes content on IKEAMANIA infringes intellectual-property rights may contact IKEAMANIA with sufficient information to identify:
- The protected work or right
- The allegedly infringing material
- The relevant listing
- The complainant’s contact information
- The basis for the complaint
IKEAMANIA may remove or restrict content while reviewing a legitimate complaint.
24. Marketplace Enforcement
IKEAMANIA may investigate activity reasonably believed to violate these Terms.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Remove content
- Cancel listings
- Cancel orders
- Restrict account functions
- Delay payouts while a legitimate transaction dispute is investigated
- Suspend accounts
- Permanently terminate accounts
Enforcement decisions may consider fraud risk, transaction history, prior violations, user safety, marketplace integrity, and applicable law.
25. Availability of the Marketplace
We work to keep IKEAMANIA available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
Maintenance, technical failures, payment-provider outages, hosting problems, security events, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control may temporarily affect marketplace availability.
26. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IKEAMANIA’s marketplace services are provided on an “as available” basis.
For third-party seller merchandise, IKEAMANIA does not independently guarantee every representation made by every seller.
However, sellers remain responsible for accurately describing their products, and IKEAMANIA may provide marketplace dispute and buyer-protection processes as described in our policies.
Nothing in this section excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
27. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IKEAMANIA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of the marketplace.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be waived.
28. Indemnification by Sellers
To the extent permitted by law, an independent seller agrees to defend and indemnify IKEAMANIA against third-party claims arising directly from:
- Merchandise the seller was not legally entitled to sell
- Counterfeit merchandise
- Intentional misrepresentation
- Seller infringement of third-party rights
- Seller violation of applicable law
- Seller’s material breach of these Terms
29. Disputes Between Buyers and Sellers
Buyers and sellers should first attempt to resolve transaction issues through the marketplace communication and support process.
IKEAMANIA may review:
- Listing descriptions
- Product photographs
- Buyer photographs
- Shipping records
- Tracking information
- Communications
- Condition disclosures
- Payment information
IKEAMANIA may issue a marketplace determination concerning refunds, seller payouts, account status, or other marketplace remedies.
Such determinations do not eliminate any non-waivable legal rights available to either party.
30. Governing Law
Except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any judicial dispute involving IKEAMANIA that cannot otherwise be resolved shall, to the extent legally permitted, be brought in the appropriate state or federal court serving Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Mandatory consumer protections and jurisdictional rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
31. Changes to These Terms
IKEAMANIA may update these Terms as the marketplace evolves.
Revised Terms will be posted on IKEAMANIA.com with an updated effective date.
Continued use of the marketplace after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
32. Severability
If any portion of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent legally possible.
33. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund and Returns Policy, applicable seller rules, and policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement governing use of the marketplace.
34. Contact
Questions regarding these Terms may be submitted through the contact information available on IKEAMANIA.com.
