Effective Date: August 16, 2026

At IKEAMANIA, most products are secondhand, vintage, discontinued, collectible, restored, or otherwise no longer available through ordinary retail channels.

Many are one-of-a-kind.

Our return policy is therefore designed to protect buyers when something genuinely goes wrong while recognizing the unique nature of secondhand and collectible merchandise.

This policy applies to purchases completed through IKEAMANIA.com unless a greater right is required by applicable law.

1. Marketplace Purchases

Products on IKEAMANIA may be sold:

  • Directly by IKEAMANIA
  • By independent marketplace vendors

Your order confirmation and product listing may identify the applicable seller.

IKEAMANIA may facilitate communications, returns, refunds, and marketplace disputes even when an independent vendor is the seller.

2. Standard Return Period

Unless an item is marked Final Sale, a buyer may request a standard return within 7 calendar days after confirmed delivery.

The return request must be submitted through IKEAMANIA before the item is shipped back.

Returned merchandise must be:

  • The same item purchased
  • In substantially the same condition in which it was received
  • Complete with included parts, hardware, accessories, manuals, or packaging where applicable
  • Properly packed for return transportation

Do not return an item without receiving return instructions.

3. Buyer-Preference Returns

If the item was accurately described and the return is for a reason such as:

  • Changed mind
  • Color preference
  • Item does not suit the room
  • Buyer ordered the wrong size
  • Buyer no longer wants the item
  • Buyer failed to check published dimensions

the buyer is generally responsible for return shipping.

Original outbound shipping charges are not refundable unless otherwise required by law.

A refund is issued after the returned product has been received and its condition confirmed.

4. Damaged in Transit

Inspect your purchase promptly after delivery.

If an item arrives materially damaged during shipment, contact IKEAMANIA as soon as possible and preferably within 48 hours of delivery.

Please provide:

  • Order number
  • Photographs of the item
  • Photographs of the shipping carton
  • Photographs of internal packing materials
  • Photographs of shipping labels
  • A description of the damage

Do not discard the carton or packing materials until the claim has been resolved.

Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:

  • Replacement, when an equivalent item is available
  • Repair
  • Partial refund
  • Return for full refund
  • Shipping-insurance claim

Because many IKEAMANIA products are discontinued or unique, an exact replacement may not be available.

5. Item Materially Not as Described

A buyer may request a remedy when an item is materially different from the listing.

Examples may include:

  • Wrong item received
  • Wrong model
  • Material undisclosed damage
  • Significant missing component not disclosed
  • Item represented as functional but materially nonfunctional
  • Item represented as factory sealed but previously opened
  • Materially incorrect condition description
  • Product determined not to be authentic

Minor differences consistent with vintage, used, or handmade merchandise do not ordinarily constitute a material misdescription.

6. Authenticity Claims

IKEAMANIA is dedicated to authentic IKEA merchandise.

Counterfeit, replica, imitation, or falsely branded products are prohibited.

If you have a reasonable basis to believe that an item purchased through IKEAMANIA is not authentic, contact us promptly with:

  • Order number
  • Photographs
  • Labels or markings
  • Any supporting information

IKEAMANIA may request that the item be returned or examined before completing the claim.

A substantiated counterfeit claim qualifies for a full refund, including reasonable return shipping where required.

7. Vintage and Secondhand Condition

A used or vintage product is not expected to be identical to a newly manufactured retail item.

Normal characteristics may include:

  • Light scratches
  • Minor marks
  • Patina
  • Surface wear
  • Slight fading
  • Minor discoloration
  • Evidence of prior assembly
  • Aging consistent with the materials and product age
  • Minor production variations

A return cannot ordinarily be based solely on a characteristic that was:

  • Clearly disclosed
  • Clearly visible in the listing photographs
  • Reasonably consistent with the item’s stated condition and age

8. Measurements

Buyers are responsible for reviewing dimensions before purchasing.

Minor differences caused by measurement technique, product variation, or conversion between metric and imperial measurements do not ordinarily qualify as a material misdescription.

If exact dimensions are critical, contact the seller before purchase.

9. Restored Items

A restored item may contain professionally repaired, replaced, refinished, or cleaned components as described in the listing.

A disclosed restoration is not grounds for a return based on misdescription.

Material restoration known to the seller but not disclosed may be reviewed under the materially-not-as-described process when it significantly affects originality, function, or value.

10. Electrical and Lighting Products

Vintage and secondhand lamps, lighting, and other electrical products may contain original electrical components.

Unless expressly warranted otherwise, buyers should evaluate vintage electrical items appropriately for their intended installation and local requirements.

An electrical item specifically represented as tested and working that arrives materially nonfunctional may qualify for review under this policy.

11. Factory-Sealed and New Old Stock Items

Items sold as factory sealed, new old stock, unopened, or in original sealed packaging are collectible partly because of that condition.

If a buyer opens or removes original sealed packaging, the product ordinarily becomes ineligible for a buyer-preference return unless:

  • The item is defective
  • The item is incorrect
  • The item was materially misdescribed
  • Applicable law requires otherwise

12. Final Sale Items

Certain products may be identified as Final Sale because of their nature, condition, clearance status, customization, fragility, or other disclosed reason.

Final Sale items cannot be returned solely because the buyer changes their mind.

Final Sale does not eliminate remedies available for:

  • Wrong item
  • Proven counterfeit
  • Material undisclosed damage
  • Material misdescription
  • Rights that cannot legally be waived

13. Local Pickup

Buyers receiving merchandise through local pickup should inspect the item before taking possession.

Once a locally collected item has been inspected, accepted, and removed by the buyer, returns for visible condition issues are generally not accepted.

This does not prevent a claim involving:

  • Deliberate material misrepresentation
  • Proven counterfeit merchandise
  • A concealed material issue that could not reasonably have been discovered during inspection
  • Rights that cannot legally be waived

14. Return Shipping

Return instructions and the appropriate return address will be provided after a return is approved.

Do not automatically return merchandise to IKEAMANIA’s general address.

Marketplace products may need to be returned directly to the independent seller.

For buyer-preference returns, the buyer is generally responsible for return shipping.

For approved claims involving an incorrect, materially misdescribed, counterfeit, or qualifying damaged item, the seller or IKEAMANIA will generally arrange or reimburse reasonable return shipping as appropriate.

15. Packing Returned Merchandise

Buyers must use reasonable care when packing returned merchandise.

Whenever practical, use:

  • Original packaging
  • Equivalent protective materials
  • Appropriate padding
  • A sufficiently strong shipping carton
  • Tracking
  • Insurance for fragile or valuable items

A buyer may be responsible for loss in value caused by negligent return packing beyond what applicable law permits.

16. Refund Processing

Once an approved return is received and inspected, the refund will be processed through the marketplace.

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method.

The time for the funds to appear in your account may depend on the payment processor, card issuer, or financial institution.

We do not control processing times imposed by those institutions.

17. Partial Refunds

A partial refund may be offered when:

  • The buyer wishes to keep an item with a minor undisclosed issue
  • A small component is missing
  • Minor shipping damage can reasonably be repaired
  • Buyer and seller mutually agree that a partial adjustment is preferable to returning the item

A buyer is never required to accept a partial refund instead of a return when applicable law or this policy provides a right to a full refund.

18. Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

If a shipment is returned because:

  • The buyer provided an incorrect address
  • The buyer failed to collect the package
  • Delivery was repeatedly refused
  • Import charges were refused

the buyer may be responsible for actual shipping and return expenses to the extent permitted by law.

Any remaining refundable balance will be determined after the merchandise is safely returned.

19. Lost Shipments

If tracking indicates that an order has not been delivered within a reasonable period, contact IKEAMANIA.

We may work with the seller and shipping carrier to locate the package or initiate a carrier claim.

If merchandise cannot be delivered, applicable refund obligations will be honored.

U.S. sellers are required to honor represented shipment periods and, where applicable, provide appropriate notice, cancellation opportunities, or refunds when shipment is materially delayed.

20. International Returns and Mandatory Consumer Rights

Marketplace rules cannot eliminate consumer rights that applicable law makes mandatory.

For example, qualifying consumers in certain jurisdictions may receive additional cancellation or withdrawal rights when purchasing at a distance from a seller legally classified as a professional trader.

Where a statutory right provides greater protection than this policy, the statutory right controls.

For qualifying EU distance transactions with professional sellers, applicable law can provide a 14-day withdrawal period and rules concerning return costs and handling.

These statutory rights may not apply in the same way when merchandise is purchased from an individual acting as a private seller rather than a professional trader.

21. Marketplace Disputes

If a buyer and independent seller cannot resolve a return or refund issue, either party may ask IKEAMANIA to review the transaction.

We may consider:

  • Listing description
  • Product photographs
  • Buyer photographs
  • Seller photographs
  • Tracking
  • Shipping documentation
  • Messages between the parties
  • Condition disclosures
  • Evidence of authenticity
  • Return tracking
  • Other relevant information

Both parties agree to cooperate reasonably with the review process.

22. Chargebacks

Before initiating a payment chargeback, buyers are encouraged to contact IKEAMANIA so the issue can be reviewed through the marketplace process.

Nothing in this policy prevents a consumer from exercising a legally available payment-dispute right.

Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in restriction of marketplace privileges.

23. How to Request a Return

To request a return or report a problem, contact IKEAMANIA through the website and provide:

  • Order number
  • Product name
  • Reason for the request
  • Relevant photographs when applicable
  • Preferred resolution
